November 10 - 16, 2025
Sacred Valley, Peru
Extension to Ausangate, November 16 - 19

You’re invited on a journey to vibrant and mystical Peru, the land of the Incas.
Join us as we rest our heads under the Milky Way, blanketed with millions of stars as we dive into sacred ceremony of Earth Spirit and Plant Medicines.
Approximately 15 km north (as the condor flies) lies the Vilcamayo River, headwater of the Amazon River, which rises in the Andes Mountains to the southeast of the historical Incan capital of Cusco. The Sacred Valley is a living museum, where indigenous customs and traditions have been preserved across the centuries and are displayed in the streets of daily culture. In small mountain towns we see a community of people who continue to live in ancient ways, creating beautiful handmade textiles and selling their produce in the market, where we are able soak up the beautiful views of a land where historic civilizations are carved into the landscape and remain alive in the heart of the local culture.
Nestled deep within the foothills of the Andes Mountains, our retreat is set in a region known as Valle Sagrado de los Incas
(Sacred Valley of the Incas).
Under the powerful protection of these majestic mountain Spirits, (known to the locals as the Apus,) away from the tourist trail, you’ll experience an intimate and powerful personal transformation as we undertake an initiation into the Divine Cosmic intelligence of Plant Medicine.

Our Retreat Center
Our retreat center provides an epic setting to all who are aspiring to spiritual transformation, personal development, and connection to the natural world. Nestled in an oasis of native plants and fruit trees and held by the power of the surrounding mountains, Munay Sonqo offers a place to connect to the incredible depth and beauty that nature offers, supporting your stay to be a profoundly nurturing and unforgettable experience.
Munay Sonqo, the name of our retreat space, means ‘Loving Heart’ in Quechua, the language of the Incas and the inhabitants of Sacred Valley of Peru, where our transformative cocoon for the week is located.
The Sacred Valley is a majestic spot in the Andes Mountains close to Cusco and home of the twelve revered mountains known as “Apus” who are said to intercede on behalf of people in protection and guidance.
Those who come to the center have the opportunity to commune directly with these mountains, as well as with the local curanderos and pacos (healers), who engage with us for traditional earth honoring and gratitude ceremony.
The center has three designated sites for events, teacher trainings, ceremonies, etc.
Our plant medicine retreat will take place in its’ own sacred space called the Santuario, away from other retreats which may be happening at the same time.
It is the newest addition to the retreat center, a separate and private area on its own, yet still enjoying all of the amenities and offering of the main property. It is made up of a large Spanish style house Casablanca, a smaller house with pool we call Casa Piscina, Casa Misky which consists of 2 traditional adobe bungalows, a stunning Maloka, massage rooms, a temazcal (sweat lodge) cold plunge pool and fire pit all under the stars (and in our own backyard).
The two large homes on the property provide a large private dining area for the group (with chef and kitchen team) as well as two living rooms spaces each with fireplaces, one kitchen for your own use and of course, the gardens and swimming pool to enjoy!
By the time we arrive, the center will have also just opened their new spa,
including three types of saunas, a salt cave and outdoor jacuzzis.

Testimonial
“At the time of the plant medicine retreat, I'd been struggling with an autoimmune disease called Sjogren's Syndrome for about two and a half years. Symptoms were primarily presenting in my throat and salivary glands - causing pain, discomfort, and dryness. This condition began showing up about three years following a traumatic sexual violation that deeply affected me and the course of my life.
Following two nights of Aya ceremony, I met Wachuma on retreat day three. Wachuma's effect on my heart was like letting the dam free, allowing all of the energies that had been stored within my being - from years of taking on the pain of others, not setting boundaries, not living life of my terms, not saying what I wanted to say and holding myself back my own truth - to be set free.
Emotions and the pain of what I had always wanted to express flowed through tears and a lot of lymph drainage. Wachuma called on me to acknowledge the pain of the trauma I experienced and forgive myself for all of these things I had never said, my truths that had been suppressed. Physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, Wachuma helped me release years of unspoken, unseen, and unheard energy.”

“My Ayahuasca and Kambo Medicine retreat in Peru was something that is truly hard to put into words.
I had been called to Peru for several years and finally it was my time, going completely off trust and feeling into the journey.
This retreat truly changed my life. It helped open me up and shed the things in my life that weren’t good for me.
It made me see things in a different light. I felt completely safe and supported during my journey.
This work is not easy. At all. But so worth it.
So worth discovering who you are and why are you here.”

MEDICINE FACILITATOR + SPACE HOLDER
Gal is a student of the world and flow, always creating visual art and music inspired by different cultures and traditions. He's been traveling around the world for the last 13 years from the south of Argentina to the Canadian wilderness from the far east to the west. He lived and taught organic farming in Nepal and India and for the last 4 years until he found home in the Sacred Valley of Peru. Gal and Shahaf own a company named "Mayantu Vision". The vision of Mayantu is to create healthy and profitable connections between different tribes and western clients through art and jungle medicines. Gal has worked with plant medicine for around 9 years. He offers Huachuma (San Pedro) ceremonies, Kambo ceremonies, Rapé (Amazonian tobacco snuff) ceremonies, sweat lodge fire keeper, Cacao ceremonies and other plants from around the world. He provides support and music in Ayahuasca ceremonies. He serves from an open heart space and understanding that the teacher never stops being a student and every student is a teacher.
Travel Information
Our retreat center is nestled in a valley, and enveloped by the Andes Mountains about an hour and a half outside of the Incan Capital of Cusco.
You’ll need to catch a flight into CUSCO, PERU (Airport code CUZ).
I recommend flying in a few days early and spending some time in Cusco, acclimating to the 14,000ft altitude and exploring the city before our retreat begins on the 10thth.
Give yourself extra time in case of any travel mis-haps and acclimatizing to the altitude. I recommend 2 extra nights in Cusco.
**Please note that transportation from Cusco airport to your hotel or to the group pickup spot is not included, however, a taxi can be taken for around $5USD (15 soles) and is easy to catch right outside the baggage claim terminal.
If you have the time to come early or stay late, there is plenty to see in do in the Cusco surrounding region, including the many archeological sites, and incredibly beautiful hikes to Rainbow Mountain, Laguna Humantay, and of course a visit to Machu Picchu.

Territory
With an area of 1’285,215 square km (496,225 sq mi), Peru is bigger than France, Germany, Italy, Netherland and Switzerland combined. It is the third largest country in South America and bordered to the north by Ecuador and Colombia, to the east by Brazil and Bolivia, to the south by Chile and to the west by the waters of the Pacific Ocean.
Coast (12% of the territory): a warm climate along the coastline that includes superb natural beaches, mysterious deserts, fertile river valleys and exotic dry woods.
Highlands (28% of the territory): a region of varied terrain and temperate climate, dominated by the snow-capped peaks of the Andes rising above 6,000 meters, the highest of which is Mount Huascaran, at 6,768 meters (22,206 feet). It includes deep canyons such as the Colca and Cotahuasi, the two deepest on the planet; and high plains like the plateau of Collao, on the shores of the world's highest navigable lake, Titicaca, at 3,810 masl (12,500 feet).
Jungle or Amazonia (60% of the territory): a region of tropical climate, lush vegetation and abundant fauna that is part of one of the planet's largest natural reserves. Peruvian Amazonia is the source of the Amazon River, the largest in the world.
Climate
Temperatures and atmospheric cycles vary from one region to another.
Coast: There are two clearly-defined seasons on the coast: summer (December-March), when temperatures can reach 27ºC (80ºF); and winter (May-October), which is damp and chilly, with temperatures falling to 12ºC (53ºF). Although it rarely rains on the coast, mist and drizzle are common during the winter. The far north coast enjoys sunshine all year round, with temperatures reaching 35ºC (95ºF) in the summer.
Highlands: The climate is dry and temperate, with two clearly-defined seasons: the dry season (May-October), with sunny days, very cold nights and scant rainfall -the ideal time to visit the Andes; and the rain season (December-March). There is a sharp contrast in temperature between sun and shade, and temperatures can often vary widely during the same day, from 20ºC (68ºF) to 2ºC (35ºF).
Jungle: The area has a tropical and humid climate. There are two well-defined seasons: the summer or dry season (April to October) with sunny days and temperatures above 30ºC (86ºF), and the rain season (November to March), with frequent showers and high river levels.
Electricity: 220 volts. (2 pin round and flat travel adaptors are common)
CUSCO
Cusco is situated at an altitude of 3400 meters (11,156 ft). At altitudes in excess of 3000 meters, there is half the oxygen in the air compared to sea level, and the air is extremely dry. This means that with every breath, visitors to Cusco who live at or near sea level inhale less oxygen than they are accustomed to. For this reason, travelers find themselves experiencing shortness of breath when walking, particularly when walking uphill.
Altitude sickness does not affect all visitors to Cusco, and susceptibility to altitude sickness is not dependent upon age, gender, or physical condition. However, people with heart or lung problems are at a higher risk. Symptoms may include headache, difficulty breathing, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea or constipation.
RECOMMENDATIONS
To help avoid the symptoms of altitude sickness:
Drink coca tea - an infusion made from coca leaves. Most of the hotels in Cusco offer their guests coca tea. Although it has not been scientifically proven that coca tea combats altitude sickness, many travelers have found that it certainly provides relief from the symptoms. In Cusco, the coca leaf is also available in candy, cookies and brownies. Local people, particularly in rural communities, chew coca leaves. It is completely legal to drink coca tea in Peru.
Stay hydrated: The first symptoms of altitude sickness, including headaches, are usually caused by dehydration. As mentioned above, the air in Cusco is extremely dry. You will lose a lot of moisture when above 3000 meters, and you should drink plenty of water.
Only drink bottled/filtered water. You can buy it everywhere.
Many visitors to Cusco choose to see the Sacred Valley first. The valley is 2,000 feet (600 meters) lower than Cusco.
