Scholarship + Financial Support Information

• The scholarship is open to applicants from within the United States.

• We only consider fully filled-in applications and review each application individually to determine eligibility.

• We prioritize applicants that have experienced trauma, are struggling and have already tried conventional treatment options.

• People with a background of substance abuse - you must be in recovery to be considered

• Applicants who have suffered severe PTSD - sexual trauma, severe childhood trauma, domestic abuse, sudden loss/change, etc.

• The scholarship is open to applicants who feel truly stuck in their current ways, and know that this retreat will help them “level-up” into the next stage of their lives, provide them the healing that they so desperately need, yet haven’t been able to receive through other channels, avenues, or modalities.

• We’re seeking heroic, courageous, applicants who are looking to break out of the matrix and do something truly remarkable.

• We are open to applicants looking to quit their job, and start a new career more aligned with their passion projects and highest truth.

• We’re looking for earth advocates, activists, teachers, healers, artists, writers, actors, singers, creatives and really, anybody who is intending to give back the gifts bestowed upon them by the teachings of the Plant Medicines. And in truly amazing and remarkable ways.

• Must be a US citizen

• At least 21 years old to apply

• Must have a vaild passport with more than 6 months til expiration date

• Must be able to travel to Costa Rica for dates of the program 13 - 21 of February.

• Scholarship recipients must pass our medical intake screening process in order to be accepted into the retreat. If one does not pass our medical intake process, we will work with you on a case-by-case basis to determine if you need additional support before qualifying, or if a retreat with us is not a good fit for you. We will still honor the scholarship if there is a clear path to participating in a retreat with us in the future.

• Scholarship recipients will be placed in a single person accommodation. (If a partner, friend, or family member is also joining the retreat, there will be a fee of $250 to be placed in shared accommodation.

• International air-fare is included for the FULL scholarship but not included in the PARTIAL scholarship – recipients must make their own way to our pickup location near the appropriate airport in time for Day 1 of their retreat. Scholarships include everything listed on our retreat page.

• A strong commitment to your healing - not just at the retreat but also in the preparation and integration

The application process consists of a medical and mental health intake, which is a standard procedure when working with this medicine. In addition to that, you will also have to prove your eligibility for a scholarship.

Please understand that at this time, we can only consider applicants who will be able to receive ongoing support at home (in addition to our integration support). Part of our scholarship application is to provide a reference or recommendation for this work from a mental or primary healthcare professional.

After your application is submitted, we will get in touch with you to discuss your application and complete the intake (if accepted) or provide you with alternative resources should you not fulfill our requirements.

The intake call and clearing are mandatory to be put on the waitlist.

Once we receive your application, it will be reviewed and short-listed by a team of qualified experts including trauma-informed therapists, specialist and medical professionals.

Our decision-making process depends on both need and availability.

We only work with applicants who are committed to going all-in, and doing the inner work to get the most out of the experience and are committed to their personal healing - not just in the ceremony, but also in the preparation and integration stages.

In the event that your application is not accepted for scholarship , we are happy to assist and support your efforts to create you own personal fundraiser for part or all of your journey.

Creating your own fundraiser has many benefits. You can directly reach out to your community and ask them for help and support.

Your family and friends want to see you thrive and you might be surprised at how much help there is if one asks for it. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of courage and strength and commitment to your healing and to make changes in your life.

The funds you raise will go directly towards your experience and payment of the retreat.

In the end, you may able to fund all or part of your experience from the funds you raise!

Creating your own fundraiser will enable you to step into the journey of Metamorphosis without having to wait until a scholarship becomes available.

Yes!, If you would like to contribute your magic to our team, please reach out and let us know in which areas you shine! Depending on the specific needs of the retreat, we can potentially work out an exchange or percentage discount of the retreat. We could use help in the following areas:

• yoga teachers or those able to offer movement/mindfulness

• photography

• social media

• sharing the word (receive an additional discount for anyone who signs up through your recommendation!)

Independent of being accepted for the scholarship, there’s a number of ways in which you can prepare yourself.

• Get a passport - you need a passport valid for at least 6 months to enter Costa Rica

• Consider creating your own fundraiser to help you collect donations for your trip

Our full scholarships are completely at cost, so we don’t make money from these. Our ceremony facilitators still get full pay to support them and their center.

If selected, we provide complete logistical support for your passage to the center. This includes help with flights, entry requirements, and traveling information.

We also provide preparation sessions before the retreat and integration support afterward.

The scholarship enables people who are seeking healing and have the finances/ability to contribute 50% of the retreat price but don’t have the funds to pay the full cost of a medicine retreat.

The scholarship includes preparation and integration support from our team, and 50% of the cost of the plant medicine immersion retreat under the guidance of the Soul Harmony Retreat Team.

Airfare and travel insurance are not included.

Ayahuasca and SSRI’s

If you are currently on SSRI’s or other depression/anxiety medications, you will have to be able to work with a trusted physician to support you as you come off these substances. Your system has to be cleared of all SSRI’s and MAO’s for at least 6 weeks before the retreat. Working with ayahuasca while on these medications is extremely dangerous and possibly lethal and we will not work with applicants who quit cold turkey or without the assistance of a physician or therapist.
