Testimonial:

“At the time of the plant medicine retreat, I'd been struggling with an autoimmune disease and symptoms were primarily presenting themselves in my throat and salivary glands - causing pain, discomfort, and dryness.

This condition began showing up about three years following a traumatic sexual violation that deeply affected me and the course of my life.

Following two nights of Aya ceremony, I met Wachuma on retreat day three. Wachuma's effect on my heart was like letting the dam free, allowing all of the energies that had been stored within my being - from years of taking on the pain of others, not setting boundaries, not living life of my terms, not saying what I wanted to say and holding myself back my own truth - to be set free.

Emotions and the pain of what I had always wanted to express flowed through tears and a lot of lymph drainage.

Wachuma called on me to acknowledge the pain of the trauma I experienced and forgive myself for all of these things I had never said, my truths that had been suppressed.

Physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, Wachuma helped me release years of unspoken, unseen, and unheard energy.”

Testimonial:

“My Ayahuasca and Kambo Medicine retreat was something that is truly hard to put into words.

I had been called for several years and finally it was my time, going completely off trust and feeling into the journey.

This retreat truly changed my life. It helped open me up and shed the things in my life that weren’t good for me.

It made me see things in a different light.  I felt completely safe and supported during my journey.

This work is not easy.  At all.  But so worth it.

So worth discovering who you are and why are you here.”

Our Location

Costa Rica is a country located in Central America that is ranked as one of the most visited international destinations. One of Costa Rica’s main sources of income is tourism. Costa Rica is a democratic and peaceful country and it has not had an army since the year 1948.

Although the country is small and it covers only 0.03 percent of the surface of the globe, it proudly shelters 5 percent of the existing biodiversity in the entire world. Twenty six percent of the country is composed of conservation and natural protected territory.

Ojochal and its surrounding beaches provide solitude and the ideal setting for reconnecting with nature, sitting in sacred ceremony, and diving into the profound work of knowing ourselves more deeply.

Lush tropical forests melt into the sandy shores of the Pacific for tropical postcard scenery. Due to their location, these beaches are far less developed and visited than the more popular destinations.

Nestled between the jungle and the sea, you’ll experience an intimate and powerful personal transformation as we undertake an initiation into the Divine Cosmic intelligence of Plant Medicines.

Our retreat center, provides an epic setting to all who are aspiring to spiritual transformation, personal development, and connection to the natural world.

Nestled in an oasis of native plants and fruit trees and held by the expanse of the sky across the Pacific Ocean, our retreat center offers a place to connect to the incredible depth and beauty that nature offers, supporting your stay to be a profoundly nurturing and unforgettable experience.

This pristine retreat centre offers a deep immersion into nature - just being here connected to the pure energy of the land and waters is healing in itself. The people behind the magic of it are passionate about creating spaces and experiences that allow people to connect with themselves, nature and each other on a deeper level.

Surrounded by lush verdant mountains, the land is blessed with vast ocean vistas and abundant spring water that feeds a creek on the west, flowing parallel to a river with cascades & swimming holes on the east.

About half of the 92 acres is forest, home to abundant wildlife with mature trees and incredible biodiversity. We have ocean breezes throughout the day and cool air from the lush green mountains that descend in the evenings.

Almost everything is organic and locally sourced and we aim to be as close to zero waste in our kitchen as possible. All "waste" is composted and turned into soil.

A lot of energy has been focused towards regenerating and reforesting the land that was a cattle farm before they arrived - over 3000 fruit trees & native species and nearly 1000 medicinal plants have been placed in the ground thus far!

The overall vision is for families living full time, however while everything is being organized for that to happen they’ve created a retreat center for groups to come receive the purity of the waters, do their healing work, and help ground the community vision upon the land.

Anura

RETREAT COORDINATOR, KAMBO PRACTITIONER + INTEGRATION SUPPORT

  • Anura first visited Peru in 2011, not having any idea how monumental it would be in the course of her evolution. She unexpectedly (but not unsurprisingly) fell completely in love with the Quechuan language, the spirit of the Mountains and the smiles of the Q'ero people.

She was led by series of synchronicities or “coincidences” back to Sacred Valley in 2016, ready to receive answers to questions that were scratching at the surface, begging to excavated. She began her plant medicine journey of expanding consciousness, questioning purpose, and challenging limits of perception existence. Meeting the Spirits of Ayahuasca, Kambo and Huachuma helped her uncover and remember so much more than she had been asking. What was unveiled was the Great Mysterious force infinitely greater than that which we see in physical form, a deep inner knowing of the invisible and grand web which works far beyond what we can comprehend with the human mind. Beyond coming face to face with her greatest fears, and embraced in the deepest most pure Universal Love by the Spirit of Ayahuasca, she was given a visceral understanding of Unity Consciousness, igniting an awakening that had never been present in her before.

These synchronicities, signs and "coincidental" meetings of people, places and dreams became a regular occurrence as she consciously stepped foot in life's labyrinth to see where it would lead her. Over the years, she maintained her relationship with the plants, learning from the Shipibo Conibo of the Ucayali River, the Yawanawa of the State of Acre in the Brazilian Amazon, the Q’ero of the Andes Mountains, and the Matses of the Peruvian Amazon of Loreto. Since 2017 she has coordinated yoga retreats to Costa Rica, Kambo + Plant Medicine retreats in Thailand, and Sacred Valley for others to have the opportunity to safely meet what's beyond sight and mind.

Through her personal and spiritual evolution, she arrived at a place where Great Spirit chose her to serve frog medicine {kambo}. After receiving permission and blessings from the Spirit of Kambo in an Ayahuasca ceremony, she began her education and training with the Indigenous Matses tribe of Peru, as well as with teachers in the US. Along with Kambo medicine, she also pulls from her trainings in Northern Thailand of traditional Chinese Medicine through Chi Nei Tsang, believing and encouraging a deep detox of the gut system and balance its’ influence on the meeting of psycho-spiritual/emotional, somatic + physiological processes to address physical dis-eases and illness.

Fierce environmentalism, a heart for conservation, and a moral code of reciprocity are at the forefront of her values. Anura is Trauma-Informed and trained in areas of Psychedelic Harm Reduction, Somatic Plant Medicine Integration, and Embodied Facilitation of Safe Transformational Spaces, with past experience working for a healing center in the Amazon, vetting and interviewing Ayahuasca applicants. She serves Kambo and Plant Medicine as culturally respectfully as possible, bringing the teachings of Indigenous mentors in ways applicable to "Western" lives inundated with stress, dis-ease, and separation. She is currently enrolled in a 13-month training course with the Synthesis Institute on facilitating Safe Psychedelic Ceremonies.

Her mission is to help us tune in our Divinity, co-create community, spread unity and non-violence to all beings, encourage and support sustainable practices, build resiliency in our personal power, and remember the simple joys of being embodied in Human-form.

Letizia Xiuh

AYAHUASCA CEREMONY FACILITATOR, CURANDERA + INTEGRATION SUPPORT

  • Letizia has been living and sharing her medicine magic in the Sacred Valley of Peru for almost a decade. A Medicine Woman by blood, she holds 5th generation native medicine lineage from the North of Peru and has sat in and held over a thousand ceremonies.

The first three years of her path with medicine were alongside the Colombian traditions, with tribes from the Putumayo such as Kamentza, Yanacuna, and Cofan. Parallel to her studies with these tribes she went through initiations with Venezuelan tribes that work with master plants such as Yopo.

Grandfather Bolivar, leader of the Piaroa tribes from Amazonas, guided her as she lived with them for two months on their land, working, studying, and receiving their knowledge. Her first plant dieta with these tribes was Dada. This dieta is considered the initiation for those that are setting their path towards servants of the medicine and space holding. After 4 years of intense and disciplined work Letizia moved to Peru. Her previous work and connection with the plants and medicine space allowed her to connect and immediately start to work under the wing of Diego Palma, creator of Sacred Valley Tribe, a center with more than 20 years serving and holding space for the work with master plants. She devoted her path to this work along with the continuation of her studies through several dietas. She went through initiations and self-healing with plants as Chuchuhuasi, Uña de Gato, Chiric Sanango, Ajo Sacha y Renaquilla. In addition, Letizia made a commitment to the work of Mexican tribes such as Huicholes, taking the responsibility to work with grandfather Peyote as a way to keep studying and receiving guidance through her medicine path. Letizia keeps training, studying, and learning from all the medicine paths and keeps her commitment to the discipline and presence that’s required to hold space from the work with medicine as well as different ceremonies related to the Moon Dance, Red Road, and Master Plants circles.

With the blessing from Grandmother Mallinali from the Moon Dance tradition, Letizia has received the blessing to hold Sweat Lodge ceremonies after fulfilling her first commitment of 4 years participating in the Moon Dance ceremonies that allowed her and guide her to keep the traditions from the Red Road as part of her medicine bundle. Her sweats are powerful and transformative and are guided by the elements, Medicine cross teachings, and her own studies and experiences of the Red Road. Guided by the Medicine Cross, and nature-based spirituality, including the teachings of the 7 directions, Letizia holds a heartfelt mission to heal all our relations.

A talented musician and beautiful songstress, she offers ancestral sound healing and songs as part of all her offerings. She holds a safe and sacred space that holds you and keeps your heart warm as she guides you to journey into the depths of your soul to find your own capacity to heal and connect to your highest potential and purpose.

Dustin Brooks

HUACHUMA MEDICINE GUIDE, LAND STEWARD

  • Dustin Kyle Brooks considers himself a devotee to the light and a student of love that is committed to truly actualizing and embodying his highest potential and supporting others in doing so every step of the way.

His formative years were dedicated to the team sport and health & wellness realms which enabled him to develop an impeccable work ethic rooted in presence of and awareness in the body as well as a deeper understanding of group dynamics and beneficial leadership characteristics. These foundational pieces have played an integral role in the evolution of his service to humanity.

In 2012 Dustin was working with the San Francisco Giants professional baseball organization as a Strength & Conditioning Coach and helped to play an integral role in their World Series championship run. Having his childhood dream fulfilled helped him to awaken to the hollowness of material success and allowed him to realize that his purpose and potential was much vaster than the “All-American boy” that society had shaped him to be. This was the wake-up call that changed everything and thus truly began his search for true happiness and fulfillment.

He let go of everything that he knew and was guided into the unknown upon a journey of self-enquiry and study through the culturally and spiritually rich countries of India, Nepal, Thailand, and Indonesia. He landed in Bali in 2015 and was lovingly welcomed into a community rooted in creative expression that opened his heart to the beauty of living together with soul family. It was here that he also was introduced to the holy sacrament of Ayahuasca which yet again re-directed his focus to an even greater mission.

Dustin believes whole-heartedly that the medicine can help to heal humanity and help to restore the innate balance of Planet Earth. Therefore he has committed his life to the study & preservation of all sacred plant medicines, but more specifically Ayahuasca, Huachuma, & Peyote. He has been helping to facilitate transformational retreats around the world for the past 7 years inside of the Loveolution and MANifestation containers.

The MANifestation is focused upon creating safe and supportive spaces for men to heal, feel, and be held. Another big passion of his is supporting boy’s rites of passage programs to receive support from their elders as they’re coming into puberty - he helped to facilitate the Green School “ROP” programs for four years and holds a big vision for “Boys II Young Men”, an initiation program that he’s been dreaming up for the past many years.

In 2019 he was called to Costa Rica with his previous partner, Ixchel, holding a big prayer to be guided towards the community land that was presenting itself in their visions. They were welcomed home and everything aligned for them to become the water protectors & land stewards of a 92 acre (37 hectare) piece of paradise in a small village called Ojochal.

Testimonial:

“Ayahuasca + plant medicine retreats are very popular, but if you want true transformation then

you need to have support from Leti and Anura.

I was nervous, excited, and intrigued by this plant medicine.

I felt loved and supported by both Anura and Leti.

This medicine is sacred and you don’t just want anyone serving you or holding space with you.

You have to become very vulnerable so you want to completely trust the people that are with you.

I will always recommend both of these fabulous powerful women to become part of the very delicate journey you take during ceremony.”
